The Renaissance is a very important time period that was after the Middle Ages and before the Baroque Period.
The Renaissance started in Italy in the 15th century (known as the Italian Renaissance). Afterwards it went to the rest of Europe. During this time many people studied ancient works. This includes mathematics—from Arabic, doing experiments, worrying about health and life, increased knowledge because of the invention of printing and making new skills for art, poetry, music and architecture (buildings). This caused many changes in the art and style during that time. There was also commerce (money) and exploration (going to other places). Sometimes people think that the Italian Renaissance was the start of the modern age.
However, many historians (people who study history) argue a lot about the things said above.
