Sir Walter Scott (1771 – 1832) foi um célebre escritor escocês de romances históricos e um poeta muito popular em toda a Europa durante seu tempo. Embora não seja tão popular, seus romances e poemas são lidos até hoje e obras como Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, Lady of the Lake, Waverley e The Heart of Midlothian permanecem como clássicos da literatura.
