בכדי להוסיף נוסחאות מתמטיות בוויקיפדיה, מומלץ להשתמש ב-TeX, שבו תומכת תוכנת האתר מינואר 2003. התחביר הוא

<math>נוסחה</math>.

בשביל שהנוסחה תוצג ("תרונדר" Render) כמו שצריך ולא כטקסט רגיל, יש להוסיף את הסימן \ בתחילת הנוסחה, עם רווח אחריו. הוספת הסימן מוסיפה רווח בתחילת הנוסחה, ובכך כופה על הנוסחה להיות מוצגת כתמונה.
