Vous avez de L'Homme qui valait trois milliards ou L'Homme de six millions de dollars (au Québec) (The Six Million Dollar Man) est une série télévisée américaine en 101 épisodes de 50 minutes et 6 téléfilms, créée par Kenneth Johnson et diffusée entre le 16 janvier 1974 et le 6 mars 1978 sur le réseau ABC. En France, la série a été diffusée à partir du 11 janvier 1975 sur Antenne 2.

[modifier] Synopsis
Le colonel Steve Austin fait partie des astronautes à avoir marché sur la Lune. Plusieurs mois après, redevenu pilote d'essai pour la NASA, lors du test en vol d'un nouveau jet, Steve Austin lors d'un atterrissage en catastrophe ne peut éviter le crash de son appareil. Grièvement blessé, certaines parties de son corps, le bras droit, les jambes et l'œil gauche, sont remplacées par des prothèses bio-ioniques qui améliorent considérablement ses performances. Il peut dès lors courir bien plus vite, voir bien plus loin, soulever des charges bien plus lourdes.
Il devient ainsi un agent du Bureau gouvernemental de l'information scientifique (Government Office of Scientific Information), sous la direction d'Oscar Goldman.

- Le succès de L'homme qui valait trois milliards incita le producteur à lancer une série dérivée, Super Jaimie, pendant féminin de Steve Austin.
- Pendant le tournage de l´épisode Carnaval d'espions en 1976, l´équipe découvrit par hasard dans un parc d´attraction la momie d´Elmer McCurdy (un bandit du XIXe siècle) qui était utilisé comme simple mannequin.
