List of songs about drugs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
|
This list includes songs about drugs and songs closely associated with drugs or drug use. This includes terminology associated with the use or acquisition of drugs such as, "crashing," "copping," and "dealer."
Sometimes a singer or composer may say that a song that has been associated with drugs or drug culture is not actually about drugs. "Puff, the Magic Dragon" is an example of this situation. These songs are included, and the controversy surrounding them is noted on the list.
This list is sorted by the type of drug each song considers; therefore, a song about heroin such as "The Needle and the Damage Done", by Neil Young will be found in the Heroin section.
Songs that do not specify what drug they reference are to be found in the Other drugs section. There are also songs about less commonly-referenced drugs under that heading.
All songs are listed alphabetically.
