High Pitch Eric

High Pitch Eric (sometimes spelled "High Pitch Erik" or "Hi-Pitch Eric"), was born Eric Bleaman on April 16, 1971. He is a frequent guest on the Howard Stern Radio Show and is a prominent member of The Wack Pack. Eric received the name "High Pitch" because of his natural falsetto speaking voice, which makes him sound akin to Mickey Mouse. Eric is also known for being morbidly obese, weighing in at over 300 pounds.

[edit] Role on the show

Eric is often used for prank calls for the show. His most famous call was to Eric the Midget poorly impersonating Kelly Clarkson, and asking, "Who's High Pitch? This is Kelly Clarkson." Other calls make use of his awkward voice, such as calling the Walt Disney Company, claiming to be Mickey Mouse, and calling liquid companies claiming their product ruined his voice.

Memorable on-air moments with High Pitch have revolved around his numerous money problems. According to accounts given by himself and Stern on the show, he has a problem paying off debts. Eric has been confronted on the show numerous times about several instances where he has ripped people off (both inside and outside the Stern universe) using fake credit cards, bad checks and invoking Stern's name in order to obtain free food or services. Several victims of Eric's schemes have hinted at possible legal action pending against him, including a limo driver (a $2000 round-trip limo ride from Queens, New York to Boston paid with a phony credit card) and a nightclub owner (a $600 Thanksgiving dinner paid with a bad check). Stern's crew have threatened to call Eric's father if he doesn't make good on the debts.

Eric's mysterious income also comes into question from time to time on the Stern Show. Once, Stern Show cameras were taken into Eric's apartment. To nearly everyone's amazement, Eric owned many valuable belongings, such as a personal computer, two laptops, a big-screen television set, a DVD player, and an XBox. K.C. Armstrong also revealed that Eric owned a jet ski. This led to many of the show's crew members to believe that Eric purchased such expensive items through various bad checks and fake credit cards. It is even believed that Eric is receiving more than one check per week from the welfare office.

In October 2005, Eric appeared on one of Stern's Sirius radio channels, for a 24-hour period, to measure the amount of feces he produced. The food he requested included a bucket of KFC chicken, two large orders of mashed potatoes with sour cream and butter, biscuits with butter, Snickers bars, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, a dozen Taco Bell double tacos with extra cheese and guacamole, two Mexican pizzas with the works, thirty White Castle hamburgers, six orders of fried mozzarella sticks, two foot-long tuna Subway subs with extra mayo, three two-liter bottles of Coke and a bottomless pot of coffee to be used as a laxative in case he got backed up. Stern and his crew wagered money on various aspects of the venture, including total weight of the movements, time of the movements, number of defecations, etc.

Eric is also ridiculed on the show for his questionable sexual orientation. Though he denies being gay or bisexual High Pitch has admitted to what many would consider homosexual behavior. For instance, a member of the Touch-Tone Terrorists once called Eric pretending to be a pornographic film producer. The prankster went on to ask Eric if he would participate in a gay adult film in which he would receive anal sex and a facial. Eric agreed and was made fun of live on the air. Another instance, in March 2006, Eric revealed that he was masturbated by a male friend in a penis-measuring contest. Eric didn't seem to find this incident to be unusual or homosexual. And in a third instance in December of 2001, fellow Wack Packer Elephant Boy, a.k.a. Fred Schreiber, was invited onto the show to spin the infamous "Wheel of Sex", (similar to the wheel in Wheel of Fortune but containing various sexual and embarrassing acts), for a chance to win an XBox. Schreiber landed on the spot in which he had to paint Eric's testicles green with his bare hands. Schreiber, Howard and the rest of the crew were visibly disturbed by the incident, however, Eric remained unfazed. This led to many of the crew's members to believe that Eric enjoyed it, further adding fuel to the speculation that he may be gay.

Eric has an intense fear of fish. On the same episode as the testicle painting incident, Eric was also given a chance to win an XBox, but in order to do so, he had to lay on the floor with a 40 pound dead cod in his G-string for 5 minutes. Eric was visibly upset by this and nervously asked, "You don't have a real fish do you?", in which Howard acknowledged that he did indeed. The following 15 minutes have gone down in history on the Howard Stern Show. Eric backed out of the opportunity and was then chased down the halls of the building by K.C. Armstrong while carrying the cod. Sal Governale would later on do the same thing to Eric in 2006.

On March 6, 2003, Howard played a new game called "What would High Pitch Do?" A phony phone call from Joey Boots was played in which Boots asked if Eric would become a drug mule and swallow Heroin filled condoms for $5000. To nobody's surprise, Eric said he would do it. He has also repeatedly been pranked with offers to commit homosexual acts (from K.C. Armstrong and others), which he is always receptive to.

Another noteworthy incident which occurred on the Stern Show was when Eric prank called famous rocker Ozzy Osbourne. During the prank call, Eric insulted Osbourne, his wife Sharon, and his daughter Kelly. Osbourne became extremely upset by this and threated to call Stern and inform him of the prank. Eric became extremely erratic, and in a panic, called Joey Boots and informed him of what had happened. Boots, extremely upset by this, told Eric that he was on his own and that if he got banned from the show, Boots would not come to his defense. In a panic, Eric called Sal Governale, who too was very upset at Eric. Governale then called Osbourne pretending to be Stern, since the two have similar sounding voices over the telephone, and informed Osbourne that there was a High Pitch Eric imposter making prank calls to famous celebrities. Osbourne did not fall for it and demanded who he was speaking to. Governale gave in and told Osbourne of his true identity. This further infuriated him and he threatened to call Stern and have both Eric and Governale banned from the show. After hanging up, Governale scolded Eric, whom now became extremely worried that he would no longer be able to appear on the show. Unbeknownst to Eric, the Ozzy Osbourne that he was speaking to was actually impressionist Billy Mira. Joey Boots and Governale were also in on the prank. The entire recording was played live on the air at the expense of a visibly embarrassed Eric.

[edit] Careers

Eric lives in Forest Hills, Queens. He is currently unemployed after being fired from various menial jobs (most recently from a Toyota Dealership in Manhattan). He used to work as a baggage handler at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, but was fired after calling in a fake bomb threat to the radio station that originated the Opie and Anthony Radio Show. Eric has also worked in an office mail room and a concession stand in Madison Square Garden. He has also worked as an actor in adult films, including, The World's First 300 lb. Gang Bang, Dynamite's 21st Birthday Gangbang, and Richard Christy and Sal Governale's film, Supertwink. He also appears as a troll in Tabitha Stevens' 2006 non-porn movie The Shaman.
