Sikhism is a religion. The followers are called "Sikhs". and their holy book is the Adi Granth.
Sikhism started in 1699. It was founded by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first of the "Ten Gurus". It was not actually recognised as a religion until the birth of Khalsa (in 1699), celebrated by Vaisakhi .
The names of the Ten Gurus are:
- Guru Nanak Dev Ji
- Guru Angad Dev Ji
- Guru Amar Das Ji
- Guru Ram Das Ji
- Guru Arjun Dev Ji
- Guru Har Gobind Ji
- Guru Har Rai Ji
- Guru Har Krishan Ji
- Guru Teg Bahadur Ji
- Guru Gobind Singh Ji
And the eternal Guru is the Guru Granth Sahib.
