The Star-Spangled Banner (A Bandeira Estrelada) é o hino nacional dos Estados Unidos da América. A letra da canção foi escrita em 1814 por Francis Scott Key, um advogado e poeta amador com 35 anos de idade. Key escreveu a canção depois de testemunhar o bombardeamento de Fort McHenry, em Baltimore (Maryland) pela frota britânica, em Chesapeake Bay, durante a Guerra de 1812. Cantada com a música da canção de taberna inglesa "To Anacreon in Heaven", tornou-se popular nos Estados Unidos. Foi declarada hino nacional por uma resolução do Congresso a 3 de Março de 1931.

What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?

Oh, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand.
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that has made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just.
