Lewis Gilbert est un réalisateur, scénariste, producteur et acteur britannique né le 6 mars 1920 à Londres (Royaume-Uni).Il réalisa des documentaires pour le service cinématographique de la R.A.F durant la seconde guerre mondiale. Dans les années 50, il se fit remarquer par plusieurs films de guerre, des policiers et des comédies. En 1966, il fut récompensé à Cannes pour "Alfie le dragueur". Il réalisa entre autres, deux grandes productions à succés de la série mondialement connue "James Bond 007" avec comme acteur Roger Moore.
