[edit] Lincoln Template

Hi, I was just looking at the new Lincoln template you created. While I appreciate it very much that you put my table into a template I was wondering how I could edit the template. Please let me know. Thank you very much, for your template as well as helpful advice. Gerdbrendel 19:25, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] BMW M6

I'm wondering why you reverted my edit. The tone was written informally. Now, just realised it was a copyvio version... YCCHAN 21:51, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Autozam Revue page

I made a lot of drastic changes to this page, as previously it contained a lot of information on the Ford Festiva-based 121 it replaced in some markets, which technically is not a related car. I moved whatever relevant information to the Festiva page, and got a picture and some other info from the Japanese page. I hope you're OK with this - I deleted a lot of information (apparently previously on the Mazda 121 page), but most of it (or similar stuff) seems to be on the appropriate other pages (Festiva, Ford Fiesta and Mazda Demio). --Zilog Jones 03:32, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blue Boxes

Hi, I responded to your Blue Box message on the Wikipedia Autmobile Layout discussion board. I'm sorry that you don't like my Blue Boxes but please consider the reason I have listed in favor of them on the discussion board. Also do you think using lightgrey, as it is a more subtle color might help. See Lincoln LS for example. Thank you. Gerdbrendel 19:19, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hybrid article note

I appreciate the comments you made concerning the article I authored in relation to being used on Hybrid vehicle. It seems to me that you had a good idea to add the link as a note to support information added from it to the "Trade-offs" section, so I've added that (last paragraph in that section). However, as it would not be good form for me to add a link to the article I authored, would you mind adding it? I've made it easy for you by adding all of the formatting. All you have to do is un-hide it, if you think (as you said before) that it is a worthy link. Thanks in advance for your help. uriah923(talk) 19:29, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] iTunes article

I know this is outside your stated area of interest, but I wonder what you think about this article, written by my brother, Brian Hansen: [omninerd.com/2005/08/25/articles/34 How Much Does iTunes Like My Five-Star Songs?]. I think it has interesting content that would add to the iTunes article on WP, but (again) it would most likely violate NPOV for me to add a link to it. Currently, all the article says concerning the subject is "Party Shuffle can also be biased towards selecting tracks with a higher star rating." If you think it would work, I'll workover the iTunes article like I did the hybrid one (looks much better, don't you think?) and notify you when it's ready. uriah923(talk) 20:15, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

I went ahead and revamped the notes on iTunes. If you find the time, I would appreciate your evaluation of the hidden reference there. uriah923(talk) 17:00, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Power band

Hey Sfoskett,

I've just begun writing an article on power band. It seems like an important term and one often used when engines are discussed. However, I think it's the first time I've ever tried to write an article from scratch. It might be better off merged with another topic, but I didn't really see an appropriate one. I know you're interested in automotive articles, so I was hoping I could ask for your input on the article. Thank you! TomTheHand 21:09, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox Changes

Hi. The changes you made to the table sound like good improvements. Since I have somehow made it my goal that all recent vehicles in the U.S. market should feature a standard infobox I'll start using the revised one on articles from now and as you have already started, will change the infoboxes I put up on all the Full-size vehicles, Lincolns, BMWs, Mercedes', Audis, and Cadillacs. Thanks for letting me now. Regrads, Gerdbrendel 19:16, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

WOW, thanks. Gerdbrendel 19:35, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Engines on MKX infobox

Hi, I just saw you added the Transmission and Engine to the MKS's infobox. I guess in a car w/ only one engine that's okay but is that now the new standard; the Town Car, Navigator, etc... still use the other table since they have to many engines. Or are engines now added only to the infoboxes of vehicles with only one generation, and is the transmission now also to be mentioned? I'm rather concerned for unity among the car articles, unless you're once again going to change 'em all- that's alright then ;-). Thanks for your help and letting me know. Regards. Gerdbrendel 04:27, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Alright, so I can use the generation boxes as in the Cadillac Seville to display generation specific information while not having to add it to the main infobox is this would cause line wraps. Thanks for the reply. Gerdbrendel 22:41, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GM Minivans

Hi, Sfoskett, I was wondering if you would support me in the descussion to keep the GM minivans separate articles rather then have them merged with the Chevrolet Lumina APV and Chevrolet Venture. I'd really appreciate your help and support. -Bavaria 17:31, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Continental goodness

Congratulations on the Bentley Continental cleanup. I am a big fan of placing different cars on different pages. If there's a "culture" the keeps disparate cars together, by all means create a page for those too (as I tried to do on Porsche 911 and as happens on the BMW n-series pages, but make sure the basic types remain on separate pages! Cheers, -- Hotlorp 21:02, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] review of Taurus

Hi, I fixed many of the problems with the Ford Taurus article adressed when I submitted it for featured article status, and I submitted it for peer review. [edit] Bentley Mulsanne

Quick question, Sfoskett. On the Bentley Mulsanne page, you write in the first paragraph that the Mulsanne was produced from 1980 - 1987. Shouldn't it be 1980 - 1992? The Mulsanne S was produced through 1992.

That's my only question. I love your work, and I've got to say, you're the best Wikipedian out there. Keep up the good work. Jagvar 21:22, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Chevrolet Silverado

Thanks for adding that expanded information inthe infobox. However, the Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra are still "different" vehicles (despite the fact that they share most of their equipment). So, my intentions are to create a GMC Sierra article and then make the Silverado article completely dedicated to its own subject. I'll just take the references to GMC Sierra out of the article once I have created a page for itself. Thanks for the help though!

[edit] Template:Infobox Automobile generation

I just had a user ask for some help due to problems he was having with Ford Mustang SSP. I thus altered the Template:Infobox Automobile generation first so the boxcolor could be altered to match the boxcolor of the Template:Infobox Automobile. This left the default font (darkgreen) hard to read so I altered that in a similar style. If this is not to your liking and you are going to change it back can you let User:Cantthinkofausername know and why. Will cross post this to the other two editors tha worked on the template. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 11:30, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lincoln MKZ

Hi, sorry about the confusion, here's the response to your post on the MKZ discussion page.

I meant it is not appropriate to say MKZ, aka Zephyr. The MKZ will not also be known as the Zephyr. The car has one name, as of 2007 it will be just the MKZ and for the 2006 model its just Zephyr. One could list both names in the name box, but that would be inappropriate. I think the way it is right know is just best; only mention MKZ as the name on this site (no aka) and keep the 2006 section in tact on the Zephyr page. My other concern is the transmission being listed twice, once in the infobox. Also if dimensions are listed in the infobox on the MKZ don't we have to do the same on all other pages, in order to create unity among car pages? Anyways, the way it is right now is okay, the infobox aligns nicely with section lines- so I'll leave it the way it is now. Thanks. Gerdbrendel 00:26, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Alright, that makes sense, you only fill in the dimsions when you have the info (FYI: on www.nctd.com] they have all dimension for almost all vehicles since 1997), but for the Town Car the previous version really looked better, right now the esthetics for that page are down the tiolet, so I'm going to try and figure something out (don't worry it won't be the third generation of the blue box). As to the name, I think you misunderstood what I was saying. In no way did I want the article to be called Lincoln MKZ/Zephyr. I just thought the aka was not right in place, but certainly did not want to change the article's name, Thanks for clearing things up. Gerdbrendel 17:36, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Just a little update. I'm going to put the dimensions in the infoboxes for all Lincolns, in the case of the Town Car, Continental I'm going to use Generation tables (as specified) for the dimensions. I got the idea now! Thanks. FYI: I have added fuel economy and fuel capacity to the generation table since a lot of visitors would probably find this information to be of veri high value. Thanks again. Gerdbrendel 22:20, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of Historic Places...

Hello. I'm thinking of creating templates for GM's Vauxhall and Holden divisions, but I don't know how to create a template. How do you create one? -Daniel Blanchette 16:01, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello again. I've tried my first attempt at a template, namely the general Holden template. How does it look? I always like tips to improve the template! -Daniel Blanchette 15:32, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

On a related note, I created a timeline of post WW-II Opel passenger models on Excel, but am unsure how to turn it into a wikitable. Think I could e-mail it to you so you can take a look at it? --Pc13 23:55, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Looks fine on the whole, but Bravada left some comments on my talk page that should be taken into consideration. He said it was "really busy and cumbersome", so we could maybe do something like splitting the timeline into "post-WWII classic for 1945-1975 and post-WWII modern" for 1975-now, like I've seen on Ferrari, for instance. If space is still a consideration, we could drop the generation designations (A,B,C). Finally, the coupe/roadster line was supposed to be two cars in the same market segment. The way it is now, it makes it seem like the Manta and Calibra were roadsters (which they weren't) and the current Tigra is a coupe (which it isn't). The concurrent GT and Manta were the small coupe and the big coupe, as were the first Tigra and Calibra, and current Tigra and new GT are the small roadster and the big roadster. Perhaps "Sport" would be better for that line. --Pc13 09:12, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Global Hybrid Cooperation transmission cutaway.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Global Hybrid Cooperation transmission cutaway.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:07, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hey, the Audi Q7 page (you've been on discussion there before)

On the Audi Q7 page it says the MMI (Audis user interface) is "user-friendly."

1. Its a subjective statement not nessicarily true. 2. I have an Audi, the MMI is possessed and definitly not user friendly (and Im a tech freak!). Again, its just me saying it to you, but Car & Driver and Consumer Reports came back the same.

I would ask that an experienced wiki user as yourself please look over the Audi Q7 page and see if that needs deleting (the user friendly part).

I stumbled across GM I3 engine and, thinking it might be a derivative of the Suzuki G engine, I searched the web for more references. As concerns platforms, I had what is said @ Wikipedia concerning both D2C and D3 contested by somebody who had other "sources", and therefore thought that a good way to substantiate those articles would be to provide a reference to a source, even if it is not universally accessible.

I was going to revert it myself after showing it to a friend later that day (typical highschooler), but you beat me to it while I was sleeping.

Image:WikiThanks.pngI wanted to say thanks for cleaning up after me, since I now clean up after others.

I also just realized that the image is still on the server somehow. Would putting it on my user page be a somekind of personal, retroactive WP:BEANS violation? Hmm, I am kind of fond of the image. Especially since you can see where the leaves from the peace sign fell to the ground and how I matched the color of the text to the color of the grafitti. What's that? [edit] Mitsubishi C platform

I've removed a link to the Mitsubishi C platform from Template:Mitsubishi for now, and I think the article's eligible for WP:AfD. As far as I can tell, this is referring to the Mitsubishi GS platform as used in the 2007 Outlander (mentioned on both pages). However, as you originally created both pages, I figure you could either (a) point me towards a "Mitsubishi C platform" reference source, or (b) flag this for WP:CSD using {{db-author}} to spare the article going through the 5-day AfD bureaucratic process. Regards, -- DeLarge 14:17, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

guys, mitsu's new platform is sometimes called C platform because cars made using that platform will be positioned mostly at c-segment (compact car) like the new lancer, the new outlander uses that platform but of course outlander is not a c-segment vehicle, but the platform as i understood from mitsu's press releases is adressed as the compact car platform....--193.95.218.254 21:06, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] General Motors Astra

Steve, a recent discussion with a fellow user from Brazil prompted a formal request to move the article to Opel Astra. I believe what we need is actually splitting it into Opel Astra and Vauxhall Astra, with a redirect from Chevrolet Astra to teh former and eventually deleting the General Motors Astra totally, as it creates a Wikipedia-only entity, a very dangerous precedent. Please see more rationales for such split in the article's talk page.

It would be great if you, in your capacity as an administrator, could execute such split. I will gladly help with it anyway that I can. Regards, Bravada, talk - 22:30, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi good Ford articles. are you interested in completing articles on Fiat vehicles. See List of Fiat cars for a list. One website has all the specs of every model Ernst Stavro Blofeld 15:32, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mazda R360

Hi, I noticed you have done a lot of editing on the Mazda R360 article. Do you by any chance have one of these cars? If so, do you have an English workshop manual for it? (please!) My Dad is restoring an R360 and has been unable to get his hands on a workshop manual. John Dalton 02:38, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] National Register of Historic Places

Hi Sfoskett, I'm updating the lists you uploaded for Oregon and I'm wondering if they were up-to-date as of December 27, 2005 (the date you added them to Wikipedia). I'd like to know how far I need to go back in the NRHP weekly lists to find new ones. Thanks! Katr67 21:54, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for offering to e-mail the list, please do, I'm sure it will be very helpful! But you know, full disclosure, I got impatient and went through the weekly lists and found new listings going back as far as July 8, 2005 that weren't already in WikiPedia. (Ones from March 4, 2005, *were* on there and there weren't other any Oregon ones in between those two dates). I don't know the source of your list, but I'd thought you'd like to know of the discrepancy. Thanks again! Katr67 21:57, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
