Kabarole District

Kabarole is a district of western Uganda. The chairman of the district, Augustine Bafaaki Kayonga, is also the head of the local government. The seat of government is in Fort Portal, the mayor of which is Edson Asaba Ruyonga. The residents of Fort Portal are mainly of the Batooro ethnicity, but the district has diverse cultures and people, such as the Bakiga. Kabarole District was originally much larger and was made up of present-day Kamwenge, Kyenjojo and Kabarole.
The Toro kingdom is headed by Rukidi IV. While in western Uganda you can listen to the local radio station Voice of Toro on 101 FM. It serves the whole of western Uganda and some parts of the central.
