Konkani is an Indo-Aryan language widely spoken in the west coast of India, from Goa to Kerala. It is the official language of Goa, state of India. The term konkani is thought to originate from the word 'Konkan', a region in western Maharashtra where this language used to be widely spoken in the 17th century.
