A picture of the rising of the hammer and sickle flag over the Reichstag. It should be noted that the flag in this picture was made from red tablecloth with the hammer and sickle themselves stamped on. Also, this photo was most likely taken two to three days after the battle, not immediately after, as it might suggest. This is the original version of the famous picture (see on the right) which was manipulated after it was taken.

It was published before January 1, 1954, and the creator (if known) died before that date (For veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the critical date is January 1, 1950).
