Pro Football Hall of Fame

Le Pro Football Hall of Fame est indirectement le temple de la renommée de la NFL. Situé à Canton (Ohio), il possède notamment un musée consacré au football américain. Il fut inauguré le 7 septembre 1963 avec 17 joueurs honorés. Un comité de 39 membres est chargé d'introduire chaque année de nouveaux joueurs, entraîneurs ou dirigeants ayant marqué l'histoire du football américain. Une liste de quinze noms est en débat chaque année, et chaque nouvel élu doit rassembler au moins 80% d'avis favorables du comité pour être introduit au Hall of Fame. Le vote final se fait traditionnellement la veille du Super Bowl tandis que la cérémonie d'introduction se tient fin juillet ou début août. La seule restriction pour être éligible est d'avoir stopper sa carrière depuis au moins cinq ans.
