Rødovre

Rødovre is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Copenhagen County on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark at . The municipality covers an area of 12 km², all part of the larger conurbation of Copenhagen, and has a total population of 36,312 (2005). Its mayor is Erik Nielsen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party who hold a majority of seats in the council.
Neighboring municipalities are Copenhagen to the east, Herlev to the north, Glostrup to the west, and Brøndby and Hvidovre to the south.
The municipality was created in 1901 when the parish of Rødovre was split from Brønshøj-Rødovre parish; the Brønshøj part was simultaneously annexed by the city of Copenhagen.
Rødovre municipality will not be merged with other municipalities by January 1, 2007 as the result of nationwide Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007).
Rødovre also are very proud of their ice-hockey team Rødovre Mighty Bulls
