Pain For Pleasure (band) is the alter-ego band of pop-punk Canadian band Sum 41. Unlike Sum 41, Pain For Pleasure is a classic metal band[citation needed].

Steve Jocz wrote the lyrics to Pain for Pleasure in five minutes[citation needed]. The band liked the name and chose it for their alter-ego, who was created to play the music preferences of Dave Baksh and Stevo, who like metal[citation needed]. Stevo mainly enjoys doing the "Pain for Pleasure" bit because he loves the attention as well, he explained to Mtv.
The alter-ego characters 'Pleasure' first met 'Pain' when Pain was working at hippie commune in around 1986. The two of them then met the rest of the band at a club called "Four Floors of Whores."
Their first single "Pain for Pleasure" was released in 2001. After the debut single was released the band disappered.
Fifteen years later, the band announced that they were back, playing their first show in Halifax Nova Scotia. Before their first show, Pain for Pleasure was given a record deal for 15 albums, and nine options. The record deal was for $10,000. Their reunion tour continued for awhile, until it was cut short due to the death of Pain.
Later on the tour bus, Pain was found dead on the floor, Jack Daniels in his hand. Pain was announced dead of excess drinking. The band went on, selling over one million singles, the best selling metal single of all time.
Pain For Pleasure has performed multiple shows, although dead Pain happened to be in all of them. They were set to be the next act after Sum 41 performed on Solid Gold for their music video for We're All to Blame. They also performed an acoustic set, covering bands such as Iron Maiden and Dio for Sum 41's Mtv Jammed 2002 performance.

Pain (1969-2002): Pain is the frontman for Pain For Pleasure. Pain is known to be very much a self-promoter. Pain is a heavy drinker and is known to be pretty sexually active.
Pain's drinking problem seemed to be very extreme...he would often not be seen with a whiskey, and his breakfast consists of cereal with Jack Daniels. His drinking ultimately led to his death. His press agent told him to be an everlasting legend, you have to die at least once.
Pleasure: Pleasure, unlike Pain, seems to be a much calmer and more subtle band member then the crazy Pain, but nonetheless is much like his partner. Pleasure also drinks, not as much as Pain. Both Pleasure and Pain seem to be the brains behind the band. After Pain's death, supposedly he supplied all of the band's vocals himself.
In 2006, according to Cone from Sum 41, Pleasure left the band, parallel to the fact that Dave (who's Pleasure's alter-ego) left Sum 41.
Gunner: Gunner doesn't say much.

[edit] Future for Pain for Pleasure
Upon Dave Baksh's departure from Sum 41, the future for Pain For Pleasure is unclear. Cone has made it official that Pleasure has left Pain for Pleasure as well. The future for the band seems bleak, due too the fact that it has lost its two key members. Though the Ajax band may return for a home show in the later-future called "Return From Hell".[specify]
