No Reason is a song by Sum 41, the second track on their album Chuck. It was released as a radio single only (no video) at the same time of Some Say but as opossed to that song, it was released on Europe and USA only and received a nice airplay reaching number #16 on Billboard Modern Rock. The song is the main track of the soundtrack of the movie Dirty Love. Before the movie Sum 41 released a non-official video for the single as a promotion for the movie. In an online poll, it was voted the best Sum 41 song, ahead of popular songs such as Fat Lip and Still Waiting.
The song is known as the "epic ballad" of Sum 41 as it is possibly the more epic lyrics and music that the band composed along with We're All to Blame, while the band has no explained the meaning of the the lyrics some theories say are about the people that do actions that know are not right but do it anyway, also parallels between some lyrics of the song ("Everything but time is running out!") and current ecological situations (namely, the oil crisis) have been noticed.
It was one of the first songs written for Chuck and has almost every sound style found in Chuck from the Punk Rock to the Thrash Metal, it is a song that intended to be with a lot of power, according to the band and for that reason is why the song lacks of the slow-paced parts that can be found on the others singles of the album.
The song working title was "Subject To Change", but after editing to both the lyrics and the melody, it was renamed. This unfinished song was released as a bonus track on some versions of Chuck, according to Sum 41, the next album contains a song that uses the deleted melody and lyrics and will be part of a follow-up for No Reason, that will be called Subject To Change.
