[edit] Synopsis
Don't go near the water. The Halliwell sisters face the truth about their mother's death years before when they revisit the long-closed summer camp and lake where she mysteriously drowned. Prue, Piper and Phoebe witness two more present-day violent drownings and meet Sam, a homeless man who they find out was once their mother's Whitelighter. To save the young campers who are returning to the newly opened camp, Prue must face her greatest fear and follow in her mother's fatal footsteps to destroy a watery demon. Meanwhile, Leo and Piper learn that they aren't the first Whitelighter and witch to fall in love.

- Water Demon: The water demon lives in the water at Camp Skylark and kills all its victims by drowning them from the inside out. It also has the ability to possess any victims. It is difficult to fight because it is made of water, so witch powers are useless. The Charmed Ones' mother, Patty Halliwell, tried to vanquish the water demon in 1978, but was killed while trying. To vanquish the water demon, electric currents must be used, to separate the particles that make up the demon.

- This episode's title is a play on words for the movie Halloween H20: 20 Years Later.
- Is one of only two times we see Patty use her power to freeze. The only other instance is in the series finale Forever Charmed.
- First time we are introduced to Sam, and his backstory ties to the Charmed Ones.
- This is the second time we see actress Emmalee Thompson portray young Prue, the first time being in the episode That '70s Episode. She will later play the role a third time in We All Scream for Ice Cream.
- When Sam and Prue were on the dock and the Water Demon went inside of Sam, he had Prue flip the switch to turn the power cables on. Sam shouldn't have been electrocuted because he was holding onto the rubber handles, which are there so people don't get shocked.
- When Sam sees Patty and calls out to her, Prue looks up to see no one. However, in the episode Sam I Am, Piper said that the last time they saw him he was riding into the afterlife with their mother.
- While trying to distract the kids from going into the water, Phoebe suggests the kids play Heads Up Seven Up instead.
- Prue says that she is destined to follow her mother's steps as she will die young; this actually happens in the season three episode All Hell Breaks Loose.
