Villains
In Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive, there are competing factions of villains that the Drive Rangers must combat to prevent from acquiring the Crown of the Gods.
- Moltor: He lives in the heat of a volcano. He and his brother, Flurious, have fought since the beginning of time to obtain the Crown of the Gods. His henchmen are called the Lava Lizards.1
- Flurious: His lair lies in a sub-zero glacier. His henchmen are called the Chillers.2
Arsenal
Each Drive Ranger has his/her own personal weapon, alongside a single blaster/sword weapon.
- The Red Drive Ranger wields the Drive Lance, a rod-like weapon with a blade at one end.
- The Black Drive Ranger wields the Drive Slammer, a giant hammer.
- The Blue Drive Ranger wields the Drive Vortex, a handheld fan that can create strong winds.
- The Yellow Drive Ranger wields the Drive Claw, two handheld bulldozer buckets that can be used to slash.
- The Pink Drive Ranger wields the Drive Geyser, a powerful water-based gun.
Zords
As with every Power Rangers series, each Ranger gets his or her own personal Zord that can form a larger Megazord. The name of this Megazord is currently unknown. In Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive, these Zords are all based on real vehicles.
- Dump Driver, a dump truck. (Mack/Red)
- Speed Driver, a race car. (Will/Black)
- Gyro Driver, a gyroplane. (Dax/Blue)
- Dozer Driver, a bulldozer. (Ronny/Yellow)
- Sub Driver, a submarine with manipulator arms. (Rose/Pink)
Based on the source footage in Boukenger, there will be a total of eighteen Zords to be used among six Rangers. Other Zords include a giant drill vehicle, a backhoe, a concrete mixer, a crane, and a jet plane. These Zords are similar to the Auxilliary Dino Zords of Power Rangers: Dino Thunder in that they usually replace one of the arms of the core Megazord. A sixth silver-colored Drive Ranger will have fire engine, police car, and ambulance Zords. The remaining five Zords make up a giant amphibious battleship/aircraft carrier Zord that turns into a separate Megazord. This Megazord's arms can also be interchangeable with the others.
The core Megazord's name is currently unknown, but it will be able to turn into two stronger forms, making it the first nine- and ten-Zord Megazords.
Known details from Boukenger
- This series marks the fourth time a morpher has been based on a cell phone. The previous series were Power Rangers in Space (Megaranger)3, Wild Force (GaoRanger), and Mystic Force (Magiranger). However, the unnamed Operation Overdrive Silver Ranger's morpher is not based on a cell phone.
- There is a possibility there will be an ally who transforms to and from a golden sword.
Confirmed details
- Ria Vandervis will be playing the dual role of Mira/Miratrix. This is listed as a recurring major guest role. [3][4]
- Caitlin Murphy will be playing the role of an unknown female ranger. [5]
- On 2006-07-26, a possible logo for the series was posted on Fuñaroboard. [6] This same logo was recently featured on RangerSecrets.com, an official Disney website. [7]
- Based on casting scripts the names of the Rangers this season were thought to have been Rex, Will, Veronica (nicknamed "Ronnie"), Dax, and Rose. Based on the descriptions within the scripts and other released information concerning the casting, it was theorized that Rex was the Red Ranger, Will was the Black Ranger, Dax was the Blue Ranger, Ronnie was the Yellow Ranger, and Rose was the Pink Ranger.[8][9] As of the release of the official website, four out of five names were correct, with "Mack" replacing "Rex" ("Ronnie" was also respelled as "Ronny"). [10]
- James MacLurcan is confirmed to playing a Power Ranger according to his agency's website. [11]
- Kelson Henderson will be playing the role of a "Yeti" character.
Unconfirmed details
- Other rumored members of the cast consist of Iz Suilani and Samuell Benta.
