Are you out of this world? Do you know e.g. what "Thessaloniki" means? "Niki" (victory) over "Thessalon" (Thessalians). It's a name written and referenced for thousands of years now and you're saying that the "original" "macedonian" name is "Solun"? Keep propaganda out of Wikipedia!

[edit] Edessa

Hi, do you know that Edessa was called Edessa in ancient Macedonian times (and unlike Skopje, Edessa was part of the original kingdom)? The ancient Macedonians even founded a city with the same name in Mesopotamia, see Edessa, Mesopotamia. The name has Illyrian origins and means "the city over water" and that the Slavic "Voden" derives from the Slavic word "voda", which means water, thus is a translation of Edessa. Why do you now claim that the original name, since ancient Macedonian times is a "new Greek changed name"? Are you suggesting that the ancient Macedonians called it "Voden", because that's not true. [edit] 3RR

You are close to violating the 3RR on Vergina Sun. I don't need to explain what 3RR is since you've already been blocked for this before. Let's avoid this happening again. --Lord Deskana Dark Lord of the Sith 22:43, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] HI

hi my friend, i know its a sad thing for macedonia and us macedonians, but its true :( not only did they requested the exclusive rights to the vergina emblem, but they got them also, wether we believe it or not, they did. only based on the fact that such an emblem was found on (modern) Greek soil, soil wich they conquered. such emblems are also found on modern day republic of Macedonia's soil, so we have and historically and archeologically the same and even more rights to get the exclusive rights of that symbol, than the greeks. but well, this is just a simple example of how unfair this world is, and how big the greek lobby is in this unfair world.

but its our fault too, we or better said 'our government' should never had to give up our flag, no matter what, that was a big big mistake. also our country should have put more effort in trying to confirm the rights of that emblem as macedonian, instead of the greeks, but well as the "stari" in our country say: "Eto, to ti e makedonceto"

greetings from a fellow macedonian, and keep up the good work you are doing on wikipedia regarding our nation.

ps. ive added some extra sources on the Ancient Macedonians page, but i am afraid the "Greeks" or "philhellens" on wikipedia will rv or delete it soon, so i would like you to take a look and help/contribute to it.

[edit] Policy violation

Hi, your userpage violates WP:USER. Please read the guidelines and make the necessary changes. I point you specifically at: "What can I not have on my user page?".

I am giving you a chance to bring the page inline with policy before I delete it. Regards, - FrancisTyers 23:18, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Macedonia. I would like to reccomend you to that you to do what Francis says. While it may seem autocratic, we recently had a case on the Macedonian language edition of Wikipedia where a Greek user made a provocative user page, which caused really bad blood, and it really made me think. I'm a supporter of freedom of speech, however, it would be advisable to keep our political views outside Wikipedia - here's my original statement about this matter:

I consider myself to be quite liberal when it comes to freedom of speech, and I almost never delete inflamatory discussions and PA's. Recently, I've been criticized as being even too soft, and this really made me rethink my approach. User pages are really not a good place to express controversial political or eth(n)ical beliefs, or even political beliefs in general. This is covered under en:WP:USER, but I think that too little explanation is given why we shouldn't put some stuff in our user pages, so users usually misinterptet this policy as restrictive. We are supposed to be neutral, or try to be as neutral as possible (given the fact that we bear or POVs unconciously), so overstressing our (political, religious, moral) POVs, is, in a way, contrary to the efforts of this project to be as neutral as possible. Provocative opinions are even more harmful: they harness the collaborative nature of the project, and create barriers between users. The bottom line is: We are not here to advertise our POVs, but to try to be neutral. --FlavrSavr 08:04, 1 Јуни 2006 (UTC)

You should also be informed that a similar effort is taken to make Greek user pages more moderate (for example, Vergina's, and Asteraki's page), so it's really a community attempt to leave over-politicized themes to another place. I hope you agree. --FlavrSavr 10:31, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

I've taken the obligation to convince the Macedonians to make their user pages more compatible to the WP:USER policy, otherwise, I'll be forced to blank your page. You can restore it at any time, I hope you'll make an effort to make it more adequate to Wikipedia policies. If you have any complaints, questions or similar please address them here. --FlavrSavr 10:31, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

P.S. We can make a List of Slavic names of Greek towns and villages, instead of keeping it to your page. Regards. --FlavrSavr 10:31, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

This user was given adequate time to respond, and has not, so I've blanked it. I've had enough waiting. --Lord Deskana Dark Lord of the Sith 10:34, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

OK, I've blanked the whole page, since I don't know what particular parts are contentious. Arguably, there were parts that were not inflammatory. I leave it to Francis to decide what parts should be left. Preferably, Macedonia should do this, but I see that he hasn't been active for a while. --FlavrSavr 15:06, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of Slavic names of Greek towns and villages

Please see List of Slavic names of Greek towns and villages. I have cut the information from your page out into this article. It could do with some work on formatting. I'd be glad of any assistance. 800 items is a lot :) - FrancisTyers 02:21, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userpage guidelines

Hi, please see WP:USER and comply with the guidelines there. This will allow you to avoid getting your userpage deleted as recreated deleted content. - FrancisTyers 10:20, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] United Macedonia

Hi, I've started the article United Macedonia. I'm using your map, the problem is, it's too large - do you think you could make a smaller one. Thanks. --Telex 14:31, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

If you want a chauvinist image on your userpage, why not use the old FYROM flag. I'm sure that'd be allowed. --Telex 20:50, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userpage again

If you must use your userpage to support "United Macedonia" this userbox is acceptable. I hope you agree. - FrancisTyers 20:52, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] ADMINISTRATORS: What happened to 'past versions'?

This user (user:Macedonia) used to have a full page of extensive text, including propaganda with maps, etc. But that is not my point. My question is that, usually 'past versions' can be traced through the 'history' page. But the 'history' page of this user goes only as far back as June 2006, in fact it should go at least as far back as November 2005. What happened to the intervening months? How can they disapprear? Thank you. Politis 15:58, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

It was deleted. --Lord Deskana Dark Lord of YOUR OPINIONS 16:27, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading the image above.
