I am an undergraduate at Montana State University, double majoring in philosophy, and political science, and considering minors in sociology, and mathematics. I intend to move on to grauduate school, earning a doctorate in Sociology. My name is Kevin.

I will generally submit to philosophical articles, however I may contribute to sociology, and political science articles as well, among others. Generally, I will contribute to articles that are entailed within my studies and interests. In philosophy, I am especially interested in social philosophy (I plan on attending graduate school in order to obtain a doctorate degree in sociology), epistemology (including philosophy of the mind, as well as the basic epistemological questions, and epistemology as relating to social philosophy and sociology), and philosophy of language.
I have recently become interested, and intrigued by ordinary language philosophy. I am, more specifically, interested in the works of Gilbert Ryle, the dispute over Sellars' problematic (which I have elaborated on in the Sellars page), and the assertion of some (i.e. Hume, Wittgenstein) that philosophical problems (especially those concerning metaphysics) are merely "puzzles" that abound from semantic misunderstandings. I am interested in, but not aquainted with the ideas of Ludwig Wittgenstein.
I am especially interested in the relationship between social structures and mental structures (most notably, I am interested in the concepts of habitus and field) as elaborated upon by Bourdieu. I am also interested in Foucault and his ideas concerning power (and the imposition of power), surveillance, the body, and discourse.
I find political science (mainly with respect to international relations) interesting because it is the epitome of quintessential sociological interactions. Indeed, it is characterized by the behavior and interactions among legitimized institutions of power.
I am currently studying Mandarin Chinese, and am fascinated by Chinese culture. I am highly interested in art during the Cultural Revolution period (especially propaganda posters).
