[edit] The Game

I just lost the game. (By the way, if you want to learn all existing languages, you could have a crack at Esperanto). Sumthingweird 13:20, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Grr. You made me lose too :(. This is why I don't like browsing User talk pages... GofG ||| Contribs 05:18, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Lost too :( --Maitias 09:39, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
I ALREADY lose about 2 times a day; I don't need to lose the game any more!Hemhem20X6 15:40, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Esperanto

Hi Hyenaste, regarding your question about Esperanto, I learnt from a book, which I can very much recommend, called "Teach yourself Esperanto" by John Cresswell and John Hartley. The most recent edition (a few years ago) also comes with a cassette. You can also learn by internet (www.monda.org/nesto) or (www.kurso.com.br), but if you want you can email me (my hotmail address is randomgoanna), and I can help you myself. I did a quick search on Esperanto in North Carolina and was a bit surprised (unfortunately America is one of the biggest Esperanto deserts in the world, the national association has only 687 annual members) to find that there is one association called the Esperanto Society of Carolinas and Virgina, and a Friday afternoon course/group at North Carolina State University (you can find both groups here. You can also give a toll-free call to 1-800 ESPERANTO (that's one advantage of living in the US) or visit Don Harlow's page. There is also a free 10-lesson Esperanto postal course, which you will find on his site. There is another free internet course here. You can also visit the site of the USA Esperanto Youth Group. I'm on student exchange in Belgium this year, so I will probably be going to the Universal Congress of Esperanto which is to be held in Florence, Italy, but I guess that's a bit far for you!!! Anyway, send me an email if you have any more questions.Sumthingweird 16:31, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I'm impressed.

I'm impressed with how you place images into articles. Hardly anyone uses the left alignments in these articles now. Maybe people were angry about the clutter the images caused due to being aligned in only one direction. Thanks for the help! TarikochiGalleryCriticize 19:43, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Please don't remove AfD tags while the debate is ongoing. It doesn't really fit in a speedy category which is why I didn't delete it in the first place. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 22:07, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

At this point I wish I had deleted it as a speedy. HAve you seen the ongoing discussion. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 22:20, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Good Job :)

Just writing to say good job for all the work you've done for the Runescape series. It's nice to see a RS player who can speak english better than the average 3 year old. And you are only 16 too. Nice stuff :) RZ heretic 04:44, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Runescape Runes

I deprodded this and changed it to a redirect. The community doesn't need to decide on every merge, in cases like this you can just be WP:BOLD. Mangojuicetalk 14:11, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wha?

I think you may be confused and may need some background regarding that users page. He started an article with his username and that information. He is a new editor, it is extremly apparent that it was intended for the userpage. If he feels that I violated his privacy (which really belongs to Wikipedia, we don't have true privacy) he could revert it. Thank you for your concern though. Yanksox 00:33, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey, I feel like a jerk. Sorry about that. Yanksox 00:41, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RuneScape gods (your message to felinoel)

Heya, I've seen your comments on the RS gods talk page. You don't need someone's permission to fix anything that is wrong on the article. You're welcome to edit any article so long as it's not wrong and isn't vandalism especially. All you have to do is click the edit this page tab on the top of that page. You seem really interested in the topic and I look forward to the improvements you may make to it. Hyenaste (tell) 01:25, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

yes i do enjoy the mythology in the game of runescape, but i would rather be sure that the correction i am making is a correct one before i edit it, i dont like getting people mad, but the amascut thing is either completly wrong or it is from a new quest felinoel (tell) 20:55 (EST), 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Something is seriously wrong

About not being able to visit RuneScape (and I don't know why I bothered to link that cause we can't visit anyway). Well I think they just updated the Wiki software or something, cause now I am also getting database errors and PHP code errors. Is there a page where users can report these? They better fix it quick! WIKIPEEDIO 15:31, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Normally I would respond on your page, but given the circumstances, I'll respond here. My totally non-technical guess is that databases with the IPs 10.0.0.233 (your talk) and 10.0.0.102 (RS) have failed. Other people are experiencing the error at these addresses too. They've reported it here → Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Isolated database issue? Hyenaste (tell) 15:37, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry that I had to copy yours to me, but this is for you. Especially for all the help you have given me and for getting all that unnecessary 111 Massacre crud out of the articles. [edit] Removal of transwiki link to Prayer (Runescape)

I linked to the article that I just transferred from Wikipedia to the Runescape Wiki after Prayer (Runescape) on Wikipedia was blanked and redirected. If we can't have Prayer (Runescape) on Wikipedia, then why can't we link to the article on a wiki where such an article is permissible? John254 20:06, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

The problem with linking to the RSWiki's prayer article is that this causes irregularity. If we link to prayer, shouldn't we also link to crafting, smithing, and all the other skills. And if we link to skills, why not also link to other articles Wikipedia doesn't allow like locations, spells, or character types? Where would we draw the line? Template:RuneScape should not be a directory of RSWiki articles. Hyenaste (tell) 20:59, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
I would "draw the line" at linking only to articles on the RuneScape Wiki that were formerly Wikipedia articles, but had to be transwikified. If we don't link to the articles that are moved to the RuneScape Wiki, we may find that, with RuneScape articles being nominated for deletion every week, Template:RuneScape will slowly be shrinking. John254 21:18, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Satelliteguys submission

Hello!

I was wondering who added the second source to my submission for Satelliteguys. Also, what does it mean "Stephen Colbert smiles upon you."?

[edit] Alex Perialas

Thanks for accepting the Alex Perialas article. I've registered now. And made a few changes already. Cheers.

Re asking - I will do. I've already learnt a whole lot today about thorough research. Thing is, a lot of useful sites don't get through the firewall at work (which is where I originally did it) so I'm updating it now at home. I'm in England and it's nearly midnight! Bubba hotep 22:47, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

Thank you for defending me against this CFIF person. I find his behaviour somewhat dubious and lacking in common courtesy. He accused me of a WP:Point violation without the common courtesy of leaving a bloody message on my talk page. He seems to have a history of crying wolf. I am pondering if some sort of censure is due. Displaced Brit 18:40, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Redirects

Is it OK to have redirects in the FA? I don't want to waste anyones time if they are unimportant. Anyway, the redirects in today's are: glands → gland; Pacific → Pacific Ocean; sugar cane → sugarcane. Hyenaste (tell) 00:22, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RS Monsters article, help with pics please :S

Hi Hyenaste, could I beg a moment of your time? I'd like to pinch the KBD and chaos elemental pictures from the monsters article and slap them into the combat article for later, but I can't untaffle them from the image gallery (that sort of thing I'm still none-the-wiser about, can't find how to make a vertical line symbol either). Would you mind having a go? I'm worried the article's going to vanish before I figure it out.

Also, there's at least one RS AFD on-going which you might not have noticed, since you're a regular contributor I'd rather you at least had a say in these things (same goes for Xela Yrag and C. Vindaloo). Thanks. QuagmireDog 00:52, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

That's much appreciated, thank you. I found that little '|' sucker exactly where you said it was, duh me. I'd actually tried to find out where it would be in the help guides, it's one of those silly little things you just want to find out and get on with. I'm hoping the Wilderness will find itself nestled within Combat, should that be the case then the monster images will come in handy, though even if not they'll still be useful. Cheers now. Thank you very much! That is fantastic! I really appreciate you going to the trouble of making that up for me. sorry for falsley accusing you, by any chance can i have you Runescape User name?? (mines Mew Lp and im level 78)

[edit] Analogies

Thanks! The democracy analogy is original, but the litter-in-the-street is borrowed from excellent User:Jwrosenzweig, who posted it memorably in response to a school newspaper column once (if I could ever find his write-up, it was one of the best defenses of Wikis I've ever seen). Antandrus (talk) 21:18, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wall Street (again)

Remember that copy of that WSJ article you needed? Well it seems we have a very interested IP-[1]. But the weird part is that the IP only could have arrived at that page through these links [2]. STRANGE..... --EdI'm lonely, talk to me contribs 22:01, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Accents

You recently removed the accents from mêlée in the RuneScape Weaponry article, I would ask that you don't, seeing as the accented form is correct, and many people pronounce the word wrongly due to omissions of accents. Would you mind not doing it again? I can't revert since I'm an unregistered user, so I'm just going to have to ask that you don't remove the accents again.

Two accents won't harm you, but they will slightly increase the correctness of the article, so please, let my accents go. :P --87.254.65.134 13:25, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. That was my mistake in creating the article list. It looks like the mistake was only propagated over a few articles, so I have deleted any mistakenly created pages and reverted the remaining edits.
