[edit] Story
The story begins with Nozomu Futami who returns to the town where he was born and was raised as a child. He lives at a shrine which is the location of a legendary stone that was rumoured to have been the location where twin girls turned into birds. The stone is said to be the cause of an abundance of twin girls who are born into the town. The twins who turned into birds did so because of their love for a man who they fought over. Nozomu is a descendant of this man and various twins throughout the town warm to him.
[edit] Characters
- Sumireko Ichijou (一条董子 Ichijyō Sumireko?) (Voiced by Ami Koshimizu) and Kaoruko Ichijou (一条薫子 Ichijyō Kaoruko?) (Voiced by Yui Horie)
Twin girls who are Nozomu's childhood friends, they also attend the same school as Nozomu throughout the anime. They both harbor secret feelings for Nozomu. Although they are close, they keep their feelings secret from each other and everyone else.
- Yura Sakurazuki (桜月ユラ Sakurazuki Yura?) (Voiced by Hiromi Tsunakake) and Kira Sakurazuki (桜月キラ Sakurazuki Kira?) (Voiced by Yui Itsuki)
It is explained during the story that these twin girls had lived a solitary life together in their large house. Their father travels often and employs their butler to take care of them. They undergo many tests to begin living as normal highschool girls. Unlike Sumireko and Kaoruko, Kira and Yura work together to win Nozomu's favor.
- Rara Hinagiku (雛菊らら Hinagiku Rara?) (Voiced by Yuriko Ochiai) and Ruru Hinagiku (雛菊るる Hinagiku Ruru?) (Voiced by Shizuka Hasegawa)
Young twin girls who are seen living with Nozomu, their mother Miyabi and pet goat Billy. They are quite affectionate towards Nozomu which makes Billy quite jealous.
- Ui Chigusa (千草初 Chigusa Ui?) (Voiced by Kozue Yoshizumi) and Koi Chigusa (千草恋 Chigusa Koi?) (Voiced by Natsuko Kuwatani)
These twins are daughters of a veterinary doctor and in the story they help their father in the clinic. Nozomu met them when Billy ate a piece of paper (a fax addressed to Nozomu) and got it stuck on its throat, so it had to be taken to the vet clinic.
- Ai Momoi (桃衣愛 Momoi Ai?) (Voiced by Chiaki Takahashi) and Mai Momoi (桃衣舞 Momoi Mai?) (Voiced by Minako Sango)
The oldest twins appearing on the series. Ai is the teacher responsible for Nozomu's, Kira's, Yura's and Keisuke's class, while Mai is the school nurse.
- Sara Shirogane (白鐘沙羅 Shirogane Sara?) (Voiced by Kaori Mizuhashi) and Soujyu Shirogane (白鐘双樹 Shirogane Soujyu?) (Voiced by Mai Kadowaki
Twin girls who are different in personality: Soujyu is mild-mannered and ill-bodied, whereas Sara is rougher is her speech, and more energetic. Nozomu meets Soujyu while she was painting, and Sara wanted him to be loyal to her. Sara herself seems to have a love-hate relationship with Nozomu. They leave the city before the end of the series.
