Działdowo

Działdowo (German: Soldau) is a town in north-central Poland with 20,830 inhabitants (2004).
Situated in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Ciechanów Voivodeship (1975-1998). It is the capital of Działdowo County.

Since January 17, 1920 in Poland. During WW2, German Concentration camp Soldau, 13,000 murdered out of 30,000 prisoners. The known victims include:
- Blessed Antoni Julian Nowowiejski (1858-1941), Roman Catholic bishop
- Blessed Leon Wetmański (1886-1941), bishop
- Blessed Mieczysława Kowalska, sister (1902-1941)
