DemonTV is a student television station at De Montfort University in Leicester, England. DemonTV was an original idea and name by a former DMU student. During his final year he handed over his ideas to the De Montfort Student Union officer in charge of clubs and societies. She then initiated several meetings for people interested in the ideas of student TV production. There was several meetings from October 2003 through till March 2004. During this time, several people took considerable interest in the idea.

Craig Macmillan took the lead in the later meetings with his plan to start of DTV in the start of the 04/05 academic year. His plan took the structure of a launch schedule as well as a small team of executive officers.

During the last few months of the 03/04 academic year, a DTV meeting was held to elect the executive officers for DTV in the following year. The results were as follows:-

Station Manager - Craig Macmillan
Deputy Station Manager - Matt Glen
Head of Marketing - Chen Sands
Head of Sport - Darren
Head of Entertainment - Kelly
Head of News - Ben Nichols

Although the positions changed several of the exec team stayed and provided DTV with the start that was needed.

In DTV's first year, they gained two awards at the NaSTA awards as well as De Montfort Student Union's Society of the Year.

Current shows in the making include the Magic Show created by Drew Mallins featuring Trixx Magic (www.trixx-magic.co.uk), the DILLIGAF Comedy Quiz show and Escape and Evade created by Alan Campbell.

Demon TV will be heading to the NaSTA (National Student Television Associaton) Awards in April 2006 with a variety of productions ranging from University sports to serious Documentaries.
