[edit] Monsters
Although there were inaccuracies, often to make the monsters seem more monstrous in the most negative sense of the term, in the character descriptions on the information sheets packaged with the monsters, the introductory legend implied that readers were to take the information about the monsters as general knowledge and not applying to any specific characterization such as those in the comics; therefore, most of them can best be understood by reading the pages about them rather than describing them here. Series 1 is 1-48, Series 2 is 49-72, Series 3 is 73-96, and 97-120 consist of the Super Scary series, alternately identified as either "Series III" (as Series 3 was not formally released) or Series 4.

[edit] Space Aliens
Good:
Evil:
This takes us up to #184. There appears to be an extra in series 3, probably BasCelik, as he appears in the comic book centerspread of issue #3 but not in the Argentinian sticker book. A rumor persists that, along with the apparently unreleased Haunted House playset, figures of Hō-ō, Kitsune, Sleipnir, and Kirin were on display with Series 3 at the Matchbox booth at American International Toy Fair 1992, though no evidence of those monsters being added to the line (akin to the Argentinian sticker book or the centerspread image of Bash Tchelik in issue #3 of the comic book) has surfaced. Other Dinosaurs have been found with Morrison Entertainment Group copyrights and numbers 224-229. Some of the dinosaurs known (through the Cromy Club sticker book) to be included in this series include Baryonyx, Brachiosaurus, Camptosaurus, Coelophysis, Compsognathus, Corythosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Diplodocus, Elasmosaurus, Heterodontosaurus, Hypsilophodon, Kronosaurus, Megalosaurus, Ornitholestes, Prenocephale, Protoceraptops (adult), Psittacosaurus, Troodon, Tsintaosaurus, Vulcanodon.[4] Distribution was so limited that a clearer picture has not been found by collectors. The later series, which were not made by Matchbox, renumbered each time.
Recently, Monster in My Pocket figures distrubted by Cromy in Argentina as Collector's Club premiums have appeared on eBay. Some of the more recognizable monsters have included an club-bearing Minotaur with a shield, a Nāga (a cobra with an over-large head and tiny body), and an Empusa among others, including a squat, two-headed creature (the yellow figure to the left in the photo to the right--the orange figure is not one of those here described), a gill man, a wizened creature with a cane, a spiked ball with arms, a beaked serpent with arms, a frog-like creature, a head with wings, a humanoid with enormous ears, an octopus-faced merman, and a creature resembling Sebek but with horns, not unlike those of the the 2006 Charon, along with other more nondescript humanoids and reptilians. They appear cheaply made and their status as genuine Monster in My Pocket figures is disputed by fans, even shown mint in package, a clear plastic pouch with a stapled-on card.
The following characters have appeared in Monster in My Pocket fan fiction but are not known to be part of the series: Afrit, Argos, Bunyip, Charybdis, Chrysaor, Cynocephaloid (a background character in issue #4 of the comics appears to be one), Echidna, Euryale, Gnome, Ladon, Men in Black, Morag, Orthos, Pegasus, Penanggalan, Shiva, Scylla, Sphinx, Stheno, Terrible Monster, Typhon, Unicorn, Women in White, Yara-ma-yha-who, and Yowie. An internal advertising page ("Sid's Bits" by Sid Jacobson) in issue #2 of the comics mentioned The Electronic Monster in a brief list of some of the included monsters, in this case evil. It is unlikely that the rights were paid to use this machine from Charles Eric Maine's novel Escapement, and this can presumably be considered an error (the 1958 film version was retitled "The Electronic Monster" in the United States). Jacobson also listed Hobgoblin as one of the evil monsters, contrary to the comics as published.
