Acoustix

Acoustix is the 1990 International Quartet Champions of SPEBSQSA. They have all, at different times, been members of the Dallas-based Vocal Majority chorus. The current quartet line-up is:
Acoustix shot to fame in 1990 at their first SPEBSQSA International Contest appearance in San Francisco, just six months after the quartet formed. They stormed to victory in the third round, overcoming 139th Street Quartet and The Naturals to take the gold medal home.
Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Acoustix have remained an extremely popular quartet for the last fifteen years and have recorded several CDs in various genres. Their combination of an extensive repertoire of songs and singing style have proved to be an audience pleaser throughout the world during this time, with appearances throughout North America, Europe, and other parts of the world.

- Todd Wilson is the first second-generation International Quartet Champion. His father Harlan sang baritone with the 1961 International Quartet Champions The Suntones.
- Current bass Joel T. Rutherford is Canadian.
- The original bass in the quartet was Jeff Oxley, who more recently directed the Masters of Harmony chorus from California to their fourth International Championship win in 1999. He also sang bass with the 1984 International Champion quartet "The Rapscallions" and currently sings with Max Q, the 2004, 2005, and 2006 International Quartet Contest's silver medal winners.
