Der Whitbread Book Award ist ein seit 1971 bestehender britischer Literaturpreis.

Der Preis wird jedes Jahr in den 5 Sparten Erster Roman, Roman, Lyrik, Biografie und Kinderbuch verliehen.
Aus den Siegern dieser Kategorien wird seit 1985 zusätzlich das „Buch des Jahres“ (Book of the Year) gekürt.

Jeder Spartenpreisträger erhält 5.000 Pfund, das Buch des Jahres erhält zusätzlich 25.000 Pfund.

2006 wurde der Preis in COSTA Book Award umbenannt.
