Reason

Reason is the ability of the human mind to work on ideas in a rational or logical way. It has been believed that only humans have this ability. No one knows if this is true or not. Many animals act almost entirely on instinct. Their actions do not show reason.
Reason can also mean why someone did something. For example: John goes to the store to get food because he is hungry. John being hungry is the reason why he went to the store.
