[recensere] placitum, placita
I am following Vox Latina which coined the term (thirty years ago) "placita Marxiana" videlicet for Marxism. In Stowasser I find at second place first "opinion", then Lehrmeinungen, Lehren with reference to Tacitus, which is similar to doctrine, theory. Similarly Langenscheidt placitum = doctrine (among other meanings). See also wikt:placitum. So in my view the term seems to be possible if of course only one among others.
