Ramón Quiroga
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ramón "El Loco" Quiroga (born 23 July 1950 in Argentina) was a Peruvian football player who played as a goalkeeper. He is perhaps best remembered for his appearance at the 1978 FIFA World Cup in a match against Poland, when he ran all the way to the opposition half and fouled Grzegorz Lato, receiving a yellow card in the process. In that tournament, he also conceded 6 goals in the match against Argentina, his birth country. As a result, Argentina advancing to the final over Brazil, leading to some of accusing the teams of collusion, which both teams denied.
