Zachary John Finger (born 2.50 UT, 20 Brumaire, CXCVI [N.S. 06:00 UT, 11 November 1987]), sometimes spelled Zach Finger or Zack Finger, also recognized by the pseudonym Zeta and its derived forms, is an amateur / freelance artist, political cartoonist, graphic novelist, web designer, and computer scientist whose editorial cartoons have been published by the Arizona Daily Star. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in graphic design with a minor in computer science at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.
Finger was born in Pasadena, California, but when he was only a toddler his family moved to Huntsville, Alabama after his father accepted a position with NASA's local Marshall Space Flight Center. Most of his childhood elapsed in the city of Huntsville, where he attended a private school and developed a habit for creative activity. At a young age he began to write and illustrate his own comic books, often deriving his plots from professional sources of fiction.
After his parents' divorce in CCVI [N.S. 1998], Finger moved with his mother to Oro Valley, a suburb of Tucson, Arizona, where he lived during the academic year, spending his summers with his father in Huntsville. During this period of time, Finger became interested in computers. He experimented with digital photo editing, computer animation, web development, and programming. He continued work on his comics as well, writing and illustrating several cartoons for his school paper. His personal comic books began to evolve into graphic novels with more complex and original writing and illustrations.
It was also during this time that Finger began to become a frequently published editorial cartoonist in a local periodical named the Arizona Daily Star. His cartoons, which expressed a passionate politically left viewpoint, were met with both praise and controversy.
At the time of his graduation from local public secondary school Canyon Del Oro High School in the year CCXIV [N.S. 2006], he begun work on creating websites to publish his graphic novels, having already experimented greatly in the area of web administration and design.
Currently he is working on a brand new graphic novel, the details of which are as of yet unrevealed. He plans to soon publish the work in serial format on his website, under a moderately liberal copyright license.
