Yuri Stern

Yuri Stern (Hebrew: יורי שטרן) (born: March 29, 1949) is an Israeli politician and member of the 14-17th Knessets. He is number two in Yisrael Beytenu's list.
Born in Moscow, Stern has been active in promoting Jewish immigration from the Soviet Union. He emigrated to Israel in 1981. He has a PhD in economics. Stern served as chairman in two Knesset committees: the Internal Affairs and the Environment Committee, and the State Inspection Committee. He was also chairman of two Knesset lobbies: the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus, and the Knesset Forum on the Middle East.
Stern is also a member in several organizations, including: in the presidium of the Zionist Forum and member of the management for the Israeli Zionist Forum, and others mostly related to immigration and immigrant absorption. He was voted to the 17th Knesset in the 2006 elections.
