Xiao Ci Gao

Empress Xiao Ci Gao (Chinese: 孝慈高皇后叶赫那拉氏), 1575 - 1603. Empress Xiao Ci Gao was the youngest daughter of Prince Yangginu of the Yehenara clan. She was the first Qing Dynasty Empress of China.
Yehenara married Emperor Nurhaci in October 1588 being only 13 years old and became his official wife. In 1592 Yehenara gave birth to Hong Taiji, the future Emperor. Yehenara died in 1603 being only 28 years old. On May 16, 1636, Yehenara was granted the posthumous title of Empress Xiao Ci Gao by her son.
