Vremya

Vremya (Russian: Вре́мя "time") is the oldest news program in the former Soviet Union. In the period from 1964 until 1991, it was shown on federal channels 1 and 2, in addition to local channels. From 1996, it is shown on Channel One. During the times of the Soviet Union, it broadcast news pertaining to Soviet Union, international news, culture and arts news, sports news, and weather reports. It has been broadcast at 21:00. Modern Vremya remains a popular news source.
