[edit] Interests
I have a great hunger for knowledge of any sort. My favourite subjects are history, psychology, and sociology, though I read anything that I can get my hands on. I am also interested in medicine, genealogy and other technical subjects. Additionally, computers are my life work. I am in my early twenties, female, and live in Kentucky.
[edit] Non-educational Interests
Non-educational interests include:
- Music
- I am obsessed with music, and listen to a wide variety of genres, though I tend to favor R&B, blues, rap, oldies, and classic rock. I also play guitar.
- Computer Gaming
- Quake series, Unreal Tournament 2004, RPGs, text-based games such as Angband, and others.
- Web-related
- Website design and administration, programming, scripting, animation, and graphic design.
- Creative outlets
- Textile crafts such as cross-stitch, knitting, and crochet, drawing, painting ceramics, tattoo art, and photography.
- Reading
- Mostly science fiction & fantasy. Favourite authors include Marion Zimmer Bradley, David Eddings, any novels written from the Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms series, David Farland, Melanie Rawn, Piers Anthony, Anne McCaffrey, R A Salvatore, Isaac Asimov, and hundreds of others.
[edit] Goals at Wikipedia
I am very interested in editing and clean-up, and generally helping out wherever possible. I may also be able to help translate pages from Spanish into English, or vice versa.
[edit] Requested Articles
I would love to see (and have requested) an article on my great-great-great-grandfather.
- "Devil" John Wright, also "Bad" John and "Tall Sycamore of the Elkhorn", prominent figure in Eastern Kentucky (Letcher County), b.1844 - d.1931, bounty hunter, Sherriff of Wise County, VA, Confederate army (Civil war), Pinkerton agent, Robinson circus sharpshooter (with uncle Martin Van Buren Bates), and so on. Very prominent in geneology research in the area (over thirty children). John Fox Jr. wrote "Trail of the Lonesome Pine" with "Devil" John Wright as the basis for character Devil Judd Tolliver. (See related articles, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Van_Buren_Bates, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Fox_Jr., http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Trail_of_the_Lonesome_Pine).
