Sarojini (Aparna Sen) is a dancer, whose immense love and dedication of her art causes divisions between herself and her daughter (Debashree Roy) following the death of her husband. She seems to find a replacement for the void in her life, however is unsure whether her blossomming career and success is really bringing her happiness.
Aditi (Debashree Roy) is keen to make a go of her career as a doctor, away from the spotlight that her mother's career attracts. Convinced that her mother has forgotten her late husband, whose death anniversary is on the 19th April, the film explores the cold relationship that has developed between Sarojini and Aditi, and whether Aditi will forgive her mother.
