[edit] Separate page for the University of Guelph-Humber
- The University of Guelph-Humber needs its own seperate page. It has its own campus that isn't even located in Guelph! It is an independant school with its own building right beside Humber College. Please create a separate article for it. Mista Tee001 18:22, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- Clearly right now there isn't enough content to create a separate article and, in my opinion, i dont really think it actually does warrent a separate article just a more considerable mention. (chubbstar) 20:11, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Serious copyvio
I came across this text in this article:
- The University of Guelph-Humber combines the rich academic tradition of the University of Guelph and the professional, training excellence of Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning by enabling students to earn a university honours degree and a college diploma after four years of full-time study.
Due to the blatant university boosterism, I had hunch and looked up the text on Google, and found that the bulk of the article is an almost direct copyvio. From this site:
- The University of Guelph-Humber combines the rich academic tradition of the University of Guelph and the professional, training excellence of Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning by enabling students to earn a university honours degree and a college diploma after four years of full-time study.
I do not believe the article (or even the Guelph-Humber section of the article) should be deleted, because it is a useful subject (and my university!), but, in accordance with Wikipedia's Copyright problems policy, I have blanked the Guelph Humber section of the page.
Also, similar text appears in the University of Guelph-Humber article. I have added this comment, and the copyvio notice there too. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gpollock (talk • contribs) .

[edit] Presidents
I took Glenn H. Penner off the list of presidents. I haven't heard anything about this, and the University Website still lists Alastair as the President. If it has been announced that Dr. Penner is taking over feel free to put it back, but could you post an article or something (and maybe note on the page that he has not yet taken over as president) Priester 04:06, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Is there even anything to suggest that Summerlee is leaving the President job? I can't find anything on the University site. --Gpollock 05:08, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- I couldn't find anything either, and I don't know why he would leave it so soon Priester 19:16, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Organizing the Residences Section
I was just wondering if it would be considered a bad idea to organize the residence section a little bit more. Included could be information on the types of room, the services each rez has (Mountain Caf and LA Pit come to mind), and perhaps a little bit on the students' general perception of each. As it stands now it seems a little bit disorganized. I'll wait a couple of days before changing it myself, to wait for feedback.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by TehJai (talk • contribs) .
[edit] Content prioritization ... "wind your toy" and thecannon.ca?
Hey all, I question the sizeable chunk of real estate in this entry that are dedicated to Wind your Toy and thecannon.ca. The Ontarion and Peak have a much stronger and relevant history and context than thecannon.ca. And I've never, in my 6 years here on campus, ever heard someone exchange that bit of dialogue about winding their toy. Might as well add a huge entry on the Baby Shark song from Maritime.
Additionally, a few sections would nice to develop: notable people, notable research initiatives, student support programmes (which are outstanding, and far better than at most universities), Mills Hall vs. MacDonald Hall.
Does this page have an active editor?
Cheers, dg
- I think I agree that the sections on Winding Your Toy and thecannon.ca do seem a little disproportionately large, but I think this is mostly because the page overall is too small. I think we should have a couple paragraphs about thecannon, but we should also have a couple paragraphs about The Ontarion and The Peak. As for an editor, I don't think the page really has any type of overall editor really, but if there are any changes you feel should be made, please feel free to make them. We're all editors here. --Gpollock 04:06, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
