Ugh Zan III

Ugh Zan III (alternate spelling: Ugh-Zan III) aka the Vicious Warlock or Ugzy as he is called by fans of the Serious Sam video games, is the fictional final adversary (or Boss) of Serious Sam: The First Encounter. He is 330 feet (ca. 100 meters) tall, has orange-red skin and a goat-like demonic appearance and has four arms each capable of handling a weapon. He has a regeneration ability that makes him nearly immortal.

Ugh Zan's incredible size gives him the distinction of being one of the largest video game bosses ever, at least in relation to the size of the main character.

In the video game, Ugh Zan first appears in the final stage of the game, first thrashing an Ancient Egyptian building and then pursuing the player all the way to the Great Pyramid (while hordes of smaller enemies are trying to prevent player(s) from reaching the pyramid), where he finally draws two weapons against Sam. However, Sam manages to escape into the pyramid, due the spaceship Centerprise hovering above it.

In a courtyard on top of the pyramid, Sam waits to board the Centerprise as Ugh Zan reappears, having apparently climbed the pyramid to reach the courtyard. Sam's firearms are still unable to kill Ugh Zan, who now wields a weapon in all four of his arms. In a last-ditch attempt to kill the monster, Sam leaps through a series of rings to activate a security mechanism in the spaceship, after luring Ugh Zan into the path of the beam. The spaceship's defence system fires a giant beam to try and electrocute Ugh Zan, which in combination with Sam's firearms slays him, leaving a rapidly disintegrating corpse. Sam enters the spaceship and concludes The First Encounter.

Ugh Zan III is regarded by many as one of the most notable video game bosses of all time. In 2004, Ugh Zan III was named on GameSpot's Reader's Choice Top Ten Boss Fights list. Quotes from readers who voted for Ugh Zan III include the following:
