Turkey sent eight boxers to the Olympics in Athens. Atagun Yalcinkaya won Turkey's only medal in boxing of 2004, a silver medal. This put Turkey in a four-way tie for 8th place in the boxing medal count.
Four Turkish boxers lost their first matches. Two more fell in the round of 16, while Ihsan Yildirim Tarhan made it to the quarterfinals and Yalcinkaya made it to the final before being defeated. The combined record of the eight boxers was 8-8.
