Trinity High School, a high school in Louisville, Kentucky, first opened its doors in 1953, when Archbishop John Floersh anticipated the growth of Louisville's eastern suburbs by choosing the site of Holy Trinity School, a former Catholic church and grade school in St. Matthews, Kentucky. The school incorporates the Catholic tradition of teaching and learning. The school campus contains about 1,400 students. Trinity has been awarded the award of excellence for schools and is nationally recognized.

The Trinity Campus expanded in 2004 to include Duerr Hall. Other buildings which adorn the Trinity Campus include Old Trinity, Flaget, Floersh, Sheehan and Shamrock Hall.
In 2000/2001 Trinity High School adopted a system of ten "houses" named after famous Catholic figures which include: Aquinas, Becket, Dante, Flannan, Gonzaga, Merton, Patrick Romero, Seton, and Toussaint. The houses break up the student body into ten different teams which compete in numerous extra-curricular activities which help to build upon school spirit. They compete in house marquee events, basketball, volleyball, and softball intermurals, a ps2 tournament, and other contests. In 2005 the Toussaint Monarchs won the house cup just ahead of the Becket Titans. The Gonzaga Ducks won three of the four basketball intermural tournaments, winning the freshman, junior, and senior tournaments.

Trinity's nickname is the Shamrocks and their primary rival is the St. Xavier Tigers. The last Friday in September, Trinity and St. Xavier meet at University of Louisville's Papa John's Cardinal Stadium for a football game; typical attendance is around 35,000 making it one of the biggest high school rivalries in the country. After losing the regular season tilt 48-16 in September 2005, Trinity defeated St. Xavier in the class 4A state championship 14-6 in December 2005. It was the school's state record 16th football crown. In the 2006 renewal of the rivalry Trinity led 10-0 with 1:16 remaining in the first quarter when the game was called due to thunderstorms and flooding. Both schools had agreed to call the game a no-contest but the Kentucky High School Athletic Association decided that it will stand as a Trinity win unless the game is made up at a later date, which both schools say is unlikely.
Trinity has also won the most cross country titles in state history, 16 state championships. In 2005, Trinity remodeled their football stadium to be able to play football, lacrosse and soccer, adding Fieldturf. The team hosted Southern in the first game in the new Marshall Stadium in front of nearly 7,000 fans. The Shamrocks won 44-0. The team won eight games and lost none in the inaugural season in Marshall Stadium. Trinity's power lifting team won a national championship in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In April 2005, Trinity's lacrosse team won its third straight title, and Trinity's ice hockey team won its second straight title that same year.
Trinity won its first regional basketball title in 2004 after beating Male 56-46 in the 7th region finals. By winning the regional, Trinity advanced to the state tournament for the first time in school history, losing to eventual state champion Mason County in three overtimes, 66-59. The team finished the 2004-2005 season with its best recordc in school history, a 29-4 mark. Zach Berry, Bret Saxton and Kyle Saxton were named Kentucky All-Stars following the season, marking the fourth, fifth and sixth players from the school to earn the honor. Ray Byron, Reid Markham and Chris McCoy were also All-Stars. The Rocks are currently lead by Mike Szabo, who will begin his sixth season at the helm in 2006-2007.
The class of 2006 was Trinity's 50th graduating class. The commencement exercises for this class took place on May 21.

Brian Brohm Is Currently the starting Quarterback for the 2006-2007 Louisville Cardinals.
