Top Dog (comic book character)

Top Dog is a comic book character from The Secret Life of Top Dog (AKA Top Dog), a 14 issue series from Star Comics (an imprint of Marvel Comics). After that series finished he made many notable appearances in Heathcliff comic books (in the main story line and as back-up stories). Top Dog was created by Lennie Herman (writer) and Warren Kremer (artist).

Top Dog is a talking dog who be-friends a human named Joey Jordan. They have many adventures together.

When the series ended, Top Dog returned in Heathcliff #22 ("The Spectacular Return of Top Dog"). He appeared in back-up stories in various issues after #22 also.

- Issue numbers 7,9, and 10 were all just titled "Top Dog" on the front cover.
- Issue number 8 was titled "The Strange Disappearance of Top Dog" on the front cover.
- Issue number 14 of the original series was titled "Please Don't Go T-Top Dog!" on the front cover.
