Tomorrow I Go
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tomorrow I Go was the Albanian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, performed in English by Ledina Çelo. As Albania had finished the 2004 Contest in seventh place, the song was automatically qualified for the final. Here, it was performed eighth (preceded by Moldova's Zdob şi Zdub with Boonika Bate Toba and followed by Cyprus' Constantinos Christoforou singing Ela Ela (Come Baby)). At the close of voting, however, the song had only received 53 points - putting it in 16th place overall and returning Albania to the semi-final for the 2006 Contest.
The song is sung from the point of view of a young woman on the eve of her wedding. She tells her mother not to be sad about losing her, because it should be a happy occasion of celebration.
An Albanian version of the song was also produced, entitled Nesër Shkoj ("Tomorrow I Will Leave"), with the same theme.
The song was succeeded as Albanian entry in 2006 by Luiz Ejlli singing Zjarr E Ftohtë.
