Tiltyu (Fire Emblem)

Tiltyu is a fictional character, specifically a Thunder Mage (A magician specializing in thunder spells), from Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu, the fourth installment of the series. She joins at Chapter 3 at low level, but holds a good potential when raised properly. She possesses the skill Wrath (Ikari), which enabled her to deliver critical hits every time, as long as her HP is below her maximum HP. Her name is derived from Tailtiu, the foster mother of a hero of Irish mythology, Lugh (which happens to be the name of a character in Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi)

[edit] Before the game
Tiltyu is born from the main house of Freege, one of the Dukedoms of Grandbell. Her father is Leptor, who held a high position in the Empire (but felt his position undermined, due to him being power hungry). The house of Freege descended from the Crusader Tordo, and specializes in Thunder Magic, with their special weapon the Thor Hammer Tome. Tiltyu couldn't use it, since she didn't have a major Tordo Blood within her (she has minor). The tome was given to her elder brother, Blume. Other than him, Tiltyu also has a sibling named Ethnia (who never appeared in the game, but is mentioned through various sources).
As a person, Tiltyu is quite an airhead, rather impatient, and as she considered herself as, spunky. She is, however, also capable of being kind and caring person. She befriended both Azel of Velthomer and Lex of Dozel, the two of them are considered as her best friends since she was little. Tiltyu also possessed a huge infatuation with the priest from Edda, Claude. Shortly before the actual events of Fire Emblem 4, Tiltyu left home with Claude, ignoring Leptor's participation in the coalition with Langobalt, under the reason that she had to protect Claude, but the main reason was because of her crush on him.

After travelling awhile with Claude, Tiltyu heard the news of the assassination of the Grandbell Prince Kult, and the house of Chalpy was put to blame. They quickly headed to Agustria to inform Sigurd, the prince of Chalpy. While Claude talked to Sigurd, Tiltyu got impatient and insisted Claude to finish their talk and head for their next destination: the Tower of Blagi. While waiting for Claude to pray, she spotted the Orgahill Pirates heading their way. Finally, Claude was done praying and Tiltyu had to protect him on the way to rendezvous with Sigurd's army, battling the pirates on the way. They succeeded in driving out the pirates, but soon the Grandbell army led by Leptor and Langobalt surrounded them. All the individuals that fought under Sigurd's banner were deemed as traitors, and since Tiltyu was one of them, she was also considered traitor. She had no choice but to flee to Silesia along with Sigurd.
Within Sigurd's army, Tiltyu is reunited with Azel and Lex (considering they're still alive). However, she started to feel rather bad within the army, thinking that since she's the daughter of Leptor, the army would think less of her. She's comforted with Azel, who told her to just be herself. After talking with him, Tiltyu felt better and contributed her skills to help Sigurd. As time passed, she fell in love and bore a son, Arthur.
Eventually, the army made their way to Grandbell. Tiltyu confronted her father, Leptor. However, although her father cared for her, he valued the name of the house of Freege over her family, and thus deemed her to die. She survived the encounter, fortunately. However, upon reaching Barhara, Alvis trapped the army and massacred them, killing Sigurd in process.

Tiltyu was able to flee from the Barhara Massacre, but not with her husband. She fled to Silesia and gave birth to her daughter, Tinny. The children were given necklaces from her. Even so, Tiltyu couldn't forget about the massacre and this took toll to her mental state. Things started to get worse when suddenly her brother Blume led an army to Silesia and captured her along with Tinny. Arthur managed to evade capture, but Tiltyu would no longer be able to contact him anymore.
Although cruel, Blume was more merciful than Leptor. He spared Tiltyu's life and allowed her and Tinny to stay in the castle. However, Blume's wife, Hilda, was a very cruel and sadistic woman. She continued to torture Tiltyu mentally and physically, abusing her and calling her names such as 'traitor' for the sake of thrill and excitement, making her life miserable and felt like hell. And occasionally, she would attempt to abuse Tinny as well, but Tiltyu stood up for her daughter and took her place to be tortured. Even Blume didn't attempt to stop his wife, although his children, Ishtar and Ishtor, cared about her. Ever since coming back to Freege, Tiltyu couldn't help but to cry at every single day, unable to withstand her sadness of losing her friends, losing contact with her son, and enduring the abuses from Hilda. Eventually, her mind and body couldn't take it anymore and she succumbed to sickness. Eventually, Tiltyu died due to the sickness. However, she's later avenged by her children 17 or 18 years later, when Arthur and Tinny, under the leadership of Celice (Sigurd's son), reclaimed Freege and killed Hilda.

- Claude - A high priest from Edda. Tiltyu has a crush on him. He's also one of her predestined suitor.
- Azel - Half brother of Alvis and Tiltyu's childhood friend. He's arguably Tiltyu's best predestined suitor.
- Lex - Son of Langobalt and also Tiltyu's friend. Also a predestined suitor for her, pairing them together grants their children the combination of Ambush and Wrath.
- Arthur - Tiltyu's son. After being separated with her, he grew up in Silesia and later joined Celice.
- Tinny - Tiltyu's daughter. Growing up under her abusive aunt (Hilda), she later joins Celice after reuniting with her brother.
- Blume - Tiltyu's elder brother. A rather cruel ruler, but cares for his family. He made a brief cameo in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776.
- Amid - Tiltyu's nephew from Ethnia, and the substitute of Arthur.
- Linda - Tiltyu's niece from Ethnia, and the substitute of Tinny.
