The Summit Lighthouse (TSL) is an organization founded by Mark L. Prophet in 1958 and was later joined by his wife Elizabeth Clare Prophet. Their followers believe they are messengers of the Ascended Masters.

[edit] The Ascended Masters
The Ascended Masters are souls who have been through many embodiments. After balancing their karma and fulfilling their dharma (reason for being) they have become one with their Holy Christ Self (also known as Higher Self) and returned to God. The messengers teach everyone that they have the potential to reunite with their Higher Self and be freed from the cycle of reincarnation. The teachings involve and expand on aspects of the world's major religions. Members use the science of the spoken word through decrees, mantras and songs to bring about personal and planetary change. The messengers teach that the key to transmuting (purifying) negative karma is through invoking the violet flame – a spiritual flame that vibrates at a high frequency and has the power to consume negativity and replace it with the qualities of God.

Over the years, The Summit Lighthouse has evolved and comprises the following separate yet overlapping associations:
- Church Universal and Triumphant was established in 1974 by Elizabeth Clare Prophet when the board of directors for the TSL incorporated the church to meet the religious needs of an expanding body of spiritual seekers.
- Summit University is the educational branch of TSL. Founded by Mark Prophet in 1971, it served as a platform for the release of the original teachings of the ascended masters for nearly three decades. Its current mission is to organize the abundance of teachings into well-defined course of study for seekers worldwide.
- Summit University Press is a leading publisher of books and audio on spirituality and personal growth. Founded in 1975, it has been a pioneer in practical spirituality.
- Keepers of the Flame Fraternity is a non-denominational fraternity in the tradition of ancient spiritual orders. It was founded in Washington, D.C. by Saint Germain in 1961 as a way of uniting warriors of light who pledge to see this earth through a golden age of freedom, peace and enlightenment by keeping the flame of life.
It is a worldwide organization; branches of Church Universal and Triumphant appear in many cities across the globe. The headquarters of TSL are based in Montana, USA.
