From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Satellite Party is a rock band and theatrical entity concieved by former Jane's Addiction and Porno For Pyros frontman Perry Farrell. It has since become a co-project with guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, formerly of Extreme & currently the frontman for DramaGods. Kevin Figuerido, of Nuno Bettencourt's band DramaGods has been confirmed as the drummer for the project & the bassist has yet to be announced. The group made its debut appearance in Los Angeles at The Key Club on July 18, 2005 featuring Tony Kanal of No Doubt on bass & Steve Ferlazzo of DramaGods on Keyboards. This was followed by an additional performance at Lollapalooza 2005, held in Grant Park in downtown Chicago on July 24, 2005.[1][2] [1] However, it has been confirmed that Kanal is no longer a part of the group.
An album is due in 2006, with contributions from various artists such as John Frusciante and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, former Chili Pepper and Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons and Joy Division/New Order bassist Peter Hook.[3] The group has signed with Columbia Records, which is a part of Sony Records[4], on June 6, 2006.
It has been confirmed that the band will be including a "lost song" with vocals from the late Doors frontman Jim Morrison. The Satellite Party will record the song over the vocals and release it on their debut.
