In an effort to get Ross to forget about an important "anniversary" with Carol, Joey and Chandler take him to a New York Rangers hockey game. The evening doesn't go well - Ross keeps finding things that remind him of Carol, and gets smacked in the nose with a hockey puck. While at the hospital, Joey and Chandler learn that Carol is the only woman Ross has ever slept with. They're also abused by a sadistic ER nurse, who gets her just desserts and is knocked out by the puck.

Three old friends of Rachel's - pregnant Leslie, newly engaged Kiki, and recently promoted lawyer Joanne - come to Central Perk to pay a visit. Their visit ends up depressing Rachel, who starts questioning her decision to run out on her wedding.

Monica invites Phoebe to stay the night - Phoebe's grandma has a new boyfriend, and they're really loud in bed (as Phoebe puts it, they're both really insecure and deaf). As a result, she hasn't slept in days. So they decide to have a slumber party, complete with pizza and a rum-fueled concoction called "Tiki Death Punch."

Rachel, upset over her friends' visit, ends up bumming out Monica and Phoebe as well. Just when Rachel seems to think things can't get any worse, the pizza delivery guy gives them the wrong pizza. Things look up when they find the pizza was meant for White House advisor George Stephanopoulos. Learning he lives just across the way, the girls do some spying on their sexy neighbor. After a while (with aid from the Tiki Death Punch), the girls share secrets: Monica once served Phoebe a veal pate, telling her it was vegetarian; Phoebe slept with a guy just hours after he broke up with Monica; etc.

At the end of the episode, the gang is playing Twister when Rachel gets a phone call from the Visa card people. They're calling to report unusual activity on her card - none. Rachel looks at her friends, and decides she has it pretty good after all.

Ross, Chandler and Joey purport to go to a New York Rangers-Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game. In reality, however, the National Hockey League was experiencing a lockout that would last until January 1995 – meaning that no game could have existed in October of 1994.
