Myst: The Book of Marrim
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Myst: The Book of Marrim will be the fourth novel in the Myst series of novels, which supplements the storylines of the Myst computer game series. The book will once again be written by Rand Miller, with assistance from David Wingrove and some of the other staff at Cyan Worlds. Wingrove has announced that the book will be released sometime in 2006.[citation needed]
The project was apparently conceived many years ago but has been "on the back burner" for a long time, while Cyan and Miller were creating the computer games Uru: Ages Beyond Myst and Myst V: End of Ages. However, with those projects now finished, Miller hopes to complete the novel.
A four-page preview of the book is included in the European Collector's Edition of Myst V: End of Ages and in the Myst V: End of Ages Soundtrack.
[edit] Story
The story will take place after the events of Myst: The Book of D'ni. It will concern Marrim, a woman from the Age of Averone (who played a major role in Myst: The Book of D'ni).
According to Rand Miller, the novel will also center around the Age of Releeshahn, the new home Age of the D'ni, which was first mentioned in Myst III: Exile, and later shown in Myst V: End of Ages
