[edit] Content

Tenten's page is...really lacking. I know she's minor compared to the other characters, but it's really sketchy. Can we get someone to fill this in a little more? I would, but I haven't watched the filler arcs and there's not much on her in the original manga. Veil of Shadows 05:25, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Try watching the Curry of Life story arc in the fillers. --Francis820 16:15, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia Speculation

I believe the trivia bullet "Tenten" could refer to her ability to hit "Ten targets out of ten," as Might Guy said that she never misses with her weapons. is nothing but speculation and should be deleted. I will do so now. Blademaster313 02:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Japanese version says "ten out of ten", so it's not speculation. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 03:14, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, technically there is more data on her than Shino, yet for some reason the appearances of Tenten is not on the Tenten page like on the other Rookie 9. User talk:Kitsunewarlock 06;52, 02 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tenten's Marking/Symbol

If you don't believe me then check the first few pages on chapter 36.. when Neji says "That sounds interesting" or whatever. Cobalt 20:29, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't have that particular chapter on-hand. What does it look like? A line, an x, a circle? You need to be specific when including it. I'm not against the trivia itself, but people need to be able to visualize it. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 20:37, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

I can post a link right now to the image, its hard to tell really.. remove it if needed. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y205/Invincibility/Tentensmark.png Cobalt 20:55, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

It seems to be a martial arts symbol, much like how Goku of DBZ fame wears the symbol of his master on the back of his outfit. Because Tenten makes so few appearances in the manga, and because even fewer would show her backside, I'm not going to bother to see if this appears elsewhere. I would imagine that it would appear at some point in the anime though, assuming it's a recurring part of her wardrobe. Maybe someone could watch her battle with Temari to confirm? Snapper2 21:02, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

I checked :), not there. Cobalt 21:07, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

And did you find her back to have a martial arts symbol on it? Snapper2 21:09, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Just noticed you added "not there" to your previous comment. Well then I suppose it's a valid piece of triva. Just be more specific than "a mark on Tenten's top". Snapper2 21:19, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Interesting info

This edit was reverted, but you can replace it for the second paragraph if you want:

Her hairstyle is called "ox horns", similar to the hair-style of Street Fighter Chun-Li (minus the covering). Repeated names are used affectionately in China, but "Tenten" can also mean "sporadically" or "here or there" in Japanese, which fits with her infrequent and insubstantial appearances in both the manga and anime. Her personality can also be described as such, as she tends to drift from serious to goofy between appearances. "Tenten" (テンテン) also refers to the small double marks that appear on Japanese hiragana and katakana to change the pronunciation of certain characters (for example, "ta" [た] becomes "da" [だ] with the addition of "tenten"). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 141.213.198.142 (talk)

I reverted it because a) you decided to have it replace the weird panda trivia instead of just making a new sentence, and b) because it is mainly making a vague connection to a video game character. If you'd like to try again, you can make a new sentence, though I'll point out that hairstyles aren't very interesting. ~SnapperTo 06:52, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
I replace the wierd panda trivia just because it was wierd (and rather stupid, but true). The game character serves as an example, not some vague connection. Telling the reader the truth about her hairstyle is better than relating it to panda ears.--141.213.198.142 07:02, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Why is an example needed? The hairstyle is already linked to, so saying that some Street Fighter has the same hairdo is excessive. And if the panda line is true, why remove it? Is it impossible to mention pandas and link to odango? ~SnapperTo 07:11, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Do you have to question everything? What's wrong with an example? It's harmless enough. The panda line is not true, because the author did not draw them just because they look like panda ears. They look more like Mickey Mouse ears, so why not give that example? Making the panda connection is utterly outrageous, so it's better to leave it out.--141.213.198.142 07:17, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Sorry I sounded so rashful, but I was annoyed at your bias.--141.213.198.142 07:21, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Says the "Jiraiya was teaching the first and second Hokages" guy. Are you the author? How would you know? – Someguy0830 (T | C) 07:22, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
The biggest problem facing Wikipedia is censoring by biased editors without due attention of the content of the material. These brash editors protect their own opinions at the expense of the truth. If you guys want to gang up and protect what you wrote, fine. I will not waste my time arguing.--141.213.198.142 07:27, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
The biggest problem with Wikipedia is editors would think that even the most minute detail shared by two characters is so utterly fascinating that everyone just has to know about it. Realize that such comparisons are worthless. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 07:29, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
I have no bias on the matter. Comparing Tenten's hairstyle to pandas is just as harmless as comparing it to Chun Li's, though I would think people would be more familiar with the former than the latter. This really shouldn't be something difficult to compromise on. ~SnapperTo 07:31, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
