Teen Angel was a short-lived American Sitcom that was created by Simpsons producers Al Jean and Mike Reiss.
The show aired on ABC's TGIF Friday night lineup from 1997 to 1998. It followed a high school boy (played by actor Corbin Allred) and his recently-deceased best friend (played by Mike Damus) who, after dying from eating a six-month-old hamburger from under his bed, hangs around as a kind of a dimwitted guardian angel to Allred's character. There are a lot of jokes that reference TV shows, like Touched by an Angel. It was cancelled after only one season. Ron Glass played God's cousin Rod. Maureen McCormick who played the mom, "Judy", left the series halfway through its run.
Cameo appearances include Ben Savage as Cory from Boy Meets World and Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina from Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
This show was pre-recorded in a studio, with a laugh track and special effects. It uses 30 frames per second, unlike many sitcoms.

- "Marty Buys the Farm" (September 26, 1997)
- Marty makes his ascension, but best friend Steve's life is far from heavenly. Steve's father has recently left the family, his best friend has died, and he's not exactly the most popular kid at school. His mother, Judy, sister Katie and Aunt Pam try to cheer him up, but it takes the powers of a Teen Angel to push him out of the doldrums. Marty gives Steve the courage to talk to a pretty girl, stand up to a teacher and begin a new friendship with the school's answer to James Dean, Jordan.

- Fearing Steve will be rejected when he asks Jessica to go out, Marty pretends to be her when Steve calls. But rather than let him down gently, Marty sets up a date and, in an effort to save his friend from heartache, actually morphs into Jessica, turning a dream date into a nightmare.

- Knowing that Steve lacks in the talent department, Marty provides him with a singing voice that makes him the star of the choir and a hit with the ladies. Meanwhile, Marty helps an elderly woman through a transitional phase.

- Steve pins his hopes on Marty when he knows that a higher power may be the only way he can survive the wrestling team tryouts.

- Marty's doing such a good job drafting historical figures to help Steve improve his life that he's reassigned to Sammy Noah, a hell-raising rock star.

- Love is in the air when Marty's poor aim makes Judy, Pam and Katie all fall for Steve's driver's ed teacher, Mr. Nitzke, making the school's Halloween Dance truly frightening.

- Sabrina, the Teenage Witch tracks her runaway cat, Salem, who has used his magic "time ball" to blast everyone in time back to 1976. Meanwhile, Judy is bemoaning the lack of a man in her life, but when Marty turns the family dog into the loyal and loving "Bob," she gets more than she bark-ained for on the disco dance floor; and Marty tries to create his own magic with Sabrina.

- After Marty gives Steve's science class frog the power of speech - with a British accent - Steve refuses to participate is the dissection portion of the course, gaining the wrath of a very annoyed teacher, but the love of a very grateful frog.

- When Katie loses a tribal feather needed for an overnight Indian powwow, Steve plucks one from Marty's plume for her - not knowing it has magical powers. Zachery Ty Bryan has a cameo.

- Marty reunites with his Uncle Lou in Heaven when Steve spends time with Jordan. But two's company, three's a crowd -- that's the message Steve tries to communicate to Marty, who wants to tag along wherever Steve goes with Jordan

- Trouble ensues for Steve and his new flame when Marty bring Katie's doll to life.
- "Grumpy Young Men" (January 9, 1998)
- Steve's dad, Casey, has rejoined the family but when Grandpa (Jerry Van Dyke joins the series) moves in as well, Steve learns an important lesson about respecting his elders and Marty learns his invisibility has limits. Marty gives Steve a mustache to help him sneak into a dance club. But in the morning, Steve's facial hair keeps growing, gray hair starts showing and his age keeps going.

- Marty helps Steve land the lead role in the school's production of Mutiny on the "Bounty", but since they don't see his "heavenly guidance," Steve's teacher and friends start to worry as they see him high-five the air and talk to the wall.

- Marty realizes that his powers give him the ability to travel through time, letting him go back six months to stop himself from eating that fateful hamburger. But if he didn't eat the hamburger, then he's not an angel, which means he couldn't go back in time, and Steve might actually eat the hamburger, which means . . . what exactly? An unknowing Steve samples the burger -- and then dies.

- After Marty helps Casey throw a perfect pitch to win a carnival toy, the former athlete thinks he's got talent once again and tries out for a professional baseball team. Meanwhile, Grandpa is reunited with his dead wife

- Marty finds out that beautif Nia, the girl he liked when he was living, liked him back, so he puts on loads of makeup, a cool wig and some groovy sunglasses and calls himself Vlad from Bulgaria so he can have a date with Nia, but if she finds out Marty's really dead, she'll hate him and The Head forbad him to go on the date so The Head will strip him of his wings!
